About Surfside Hawaii,
Inc. Surfside Hawaii, Inc. was organized in 1964 as the distributor in the State of Hawaii for Capitol Records. In 1968 the company formed Lehua Records and followed that with the acquisition of the master tapes of Mahalo Records, Makaha Records, and Sounds of Hawaii Records. In 1977 Surfside Hawaii expanded into the retail business with the purchase of the House of Music stores and operated five (5) stores until they were sold in 1990.
